St. John's Manor
St John's Manor is low-income housing for Seniors. Call 623-337-4453 for more information or for an application.
St. John's Lutheran Church's development of St. John's Manor represents a significant investment in addressing Arizona's affordable senior housing crisis, providing 43 units of subsidized housing for very low-income elderly residents. Completed in August 2005 through HUD Section 202 funding at a construction cost of $2.5 million, this facility serves seniors aged 62 and older earning below 50% of area median income. With senior households earning $52,730 annually now qualifying as low income in Arizona and assisted living costs averaging $5,500 monthly St. John's Manor provides essential affordable housing options that enable seniors to age in place with dignity. Given that only 1.9 million of the 6 million eligible senior households receive HUD housing assistance nationally, our 43-unit contribution directly addresses the critical shortage of affordable senior housing while offering supportive services that prevent institutionalization and homelessness among vulnerable elderly community members.
