Preaching is one of the ways God speaks through His people. And like all spiritual gifts, it grows stronger with practice, prayer, and community.

You're Invited: Preaching Discussion Group

This is a space for those curious about preaching to gather together, explore the task of preaching, and support one another in growing as communicators of God’s Word.

Here’s what we’ll do:

• Reflect on upcoming Bible readings

• Pray for discernment and guidance

• Discuss the purpose of preaching and the balance of Law and Gospel

• Brainstorm ideas for crafting sermons that connect with real lives

Whether you’ve preached before or are just wondering if this could be your next step, this group is for you.

A Vision for St. John's

Our hope is that at least one member of St. John's will preach once a month at one of our services—not all three!—and then reflect on the experience together in the group. This rhythm of participation and reflection will help us grow in faith, deepen our understanding of Scripture, and hear God’s voice in new ways.
