Are you looking to deepen your faith, strengthen your understanding of Scripture, and grow alongside other followers of Christ? The GIF/Diakonia Foundation Year may be just what you're looking for!

Registration is now open for the 2026–2027 Foundation Year, with classes beginning August 25, 2026. Whether you're new to Bible study or have been walking with Christ for years, the Diakonia program welcomes learners at every stage of their faith journey.

For more than 40 years, the Diakonia program has been helping members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) grow in knowledge, service, and discipleship. The updated two-year curriculum offers a Foundation Year followed by optional Practical Year tracks, giving participants the flexibility to continue learning in ways that fit their interests and calling.

Program Details

• Classes begin: Tuesday, August 25, 2026

• When: Tuesday evenings, 6:00–9:00 pm MST

• Where: Online via Zoom

• Cost: $25 one-time enrollment fee, plus $70 tuition per class (required books may be an additional expense)

The Diakonia program provides a supportive learning environment where participants are encouraged to ask questions, explore Scripture, and deepen their relationship with God while connecting with fellow believers from across the region.
